Current Role
Rev. Roy R. Rhodes was elected Assistant Superintendent and Executive Secretary/Treasurer of the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God in May of 2021. He oversees the credentialing process, assists District affiliated churches in becoming self-governing through General Council affiliation, and assists leadership with Healthy Church and Healthy Pastor planning
Background
From 2010 until the time of his election, Rev. Rhodes served as Lead Pastor of Abundant Life Community Church in Alton, Illinois. During that time, he also served as a member of the Illinois District Executive Presbytery. From 2000 to 2010, Roy served as Lead Pastor of Cross Point Assembly of God in Paola, Kansas. Prior to his Lead Pastorates, he served the Arkansas District in the District Youth Director’s office. Rev. Rhodes holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, a Master of Arts from Southeastern University, a Master of Divinity from the Harrison Graduate School of Southwestern University, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
Roy has been married to his high school sweetheart, Leighanne, for 38 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
