Two New Presbyters Elected

During the past 30 days, IDC has gained two new Presbyters: Jeffrey L. Gowen in the Metro South Section and Rick L. McGough in the Northwest Section.

Rev. Gowen was elected Presbyter on September 18, to fill the unexpired term of Sam Hart, who transitioned to South Carolina. Rev. Gowen has served as pastor of Collinsville First AG since July 19, 1998. Previously, he pastored churches in Abingdon (1994-1998) and Ava (1990-1993). He and his wife Kimberly are parents of four children. Other Metro South Section officers include Gary Thomas, Alternate Presbyter; Wayne Boostrom, Secretary; and Ed Walker, Treasurer.

Rev. McGough was elected Presbyter on October 9, to fill the unexpired term of Dave Ulseth, who resigned from Rock Island/Bethel to pursue other minister assignments, mission trips, and pastoral interims. Rev. McGough has served as pastor of Moline/New Life Fellowship since January 1982 and had served as Alternate Presbyter of the Northwest Section since 2004. He and his wife Val are parents of three adult sons. Other Northwest Section officers include Brian Vickers, Alternate Presbyter; Larry Powell, Secretary; and Larry Post, Treasurer.
