Karen Doughty, wife of pastor Fred Doughty of Glad Tidings AG in East Peoria, has written a book entitled, "Food for the Hungry Soul." It's a devotional cookbook of 366 recipes and 366 devotions that are formulated from all 66 books of the Bible.
Says Karen, "Do you hunger for more of God but struggle with the hectic pace of everyday life? Do you wish there were more hours in a day? If you answered yes to either of these questions, this is the book for you." The wife, mother of four, and grandmother of eight adds, "The scriptures proclaim the power, holiness, and sovereignty of God, while the prayers bring repentance and restoration through Jesus Christ."
Copies may be purchased from Christian Book Distributors or Amazon.com, or visit Hoerr's Berean Book Store in Peoria, Bloomington, or Decatur. You can also purchase from the author for $17 (includes tax) by going to her blog site or by emailing the author at karendoughty@me.com. Add $4 if shipping is needed, and $2 for each additional book to be mailed to the same address.
Karen also writes devotions and includes recipes on her blog, similar to what is found in the book.
